On June 14, 2017, two of my good friends and I hit the open road and went on a three week cross-country exploration. On our journey, we visited 20 states, 10 National Parks (Badlands, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, Redwoods, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Arches), 12 cities/towns (Chicago, Sioux Falls, Jackson Hole, Whitefish, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Page, Moab, Denver, Boulder, Cleveland), and 3 other monumental stops (Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Route 66/Peach Springs). We learned how the United States is so much larger (both physically and metaphorically) than just the Northeast. We met lovely people along the way, whose culture and views sometimes differed from ours, but were kind and welcoming to obvious outsiders regardless. Most importantly, we lived like true millennial nomads for one last time before we settled into post-graduation life.
